Ezekwesili States Plateau Killings Indicate Nigeria’s Total Collapse Due to Lack of Consequences for Heinous Crimes

Obi Ezekwesili, the President of Human Capital Africa, has asserted that the Nigerian state is in a state of complete breakdown and collapse due to the lack of consequences for those responsible for societal crimes. In an interview with ARISE NEWS on Thursday, Ezekwesili addressed the plateau killings, emphasizing the presence of underlying religious intolerance contributing to the attacks.

She highlighted the farmer-herder crisis as a protracted issue, driven by competing demands for resources, especially land. Ezekwesili described the situation in the northern state as indicative of a society that has lost its soul, emphasizing the urgent need to end the ongoing violence.

Ezekwesili placed accountability on the government in power, stating that the plateau state situation is offensive and underscores the government’s neglect of citizens’ lives. She called on Nigerian citizens to demand accountability from the government, emphasizing the importance of human capital over natural resources.

In urging citizens to compel the national assembly and the president to prioritize the nation’s current challenges, she criticized the lack of accountability and emphasized the need for leaders to prioritize human lives over financial gains. Ezekwesili concluded by emphasizing the crucial role of human capital in determining societal progress.
